NCT Antenatal

Hi there, wondered if anyone had started the NCT antenatal course and if you'd recommend it rather than the NHS?

I asume if you go to the NCT you don't bother going to the NHS one?

Thanks.

NCT = National Childbirth Trust. I am planning to do one as all my friends keep telling e they are really good and really get the OH/birthing partner involved in everything.

I haven't started classes yet but saying that haven't been offered any.

But when I was talking to my manager she said that when she had her 1st baby she had NHS ante-natal classes and then with her 2nd she said she NCT and she said that on the NHS ones they made her feel stupid and when she was in labour with her 1st she didn't have the confidence to say no and what she wanted.. She said that with her 2nd on the NCT they really clued her up and gave her confidence to say "no that's not needed" or "i really would like..." ...

Her exact words were "When I went on the NCT classes and they taught me everything like breathing it was so easy having my 2nd I could have done it 10 times over it was like having a s**t"

So I'm guessing that NCT would be slightly better lol

xxx

I'd like to, but at nearly £300 I'd rather spend the money on things for the baby. Maybe they are just expensive in my area?

I have a place reserved on the NCT one, get a lot of mornings off work eh?!

It's £178 where I live but £38 is the years NCT years membership which you don't have to pay.

Thanks KayleighJayne, I think we will go with NCT. Afterall, am due £190 from the government so that'll cover it
