Anterior Placenta.. Not low lying?

Just noticed on my scan notes I have an anterior placenta but it say's its not low lying.. I have been feeling movements.. Not very strongly though.. Could the not low placenta be why? I know there's been alot of threads about anterior placenta's but I don't really understand how it all works..

I know that LOW LYING is a problem (well not a problem) but means you may not feel movements as early as others.. Is that the same for an anterior regardless of high, low or middle??

xxx

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and she advised my placenta was nice and high however, on checking my notes today it's says anterior placenta. I think you only need to worry when it's low ie if you're getting a c section it can cause more bleeding.

She didn't mention this was a problem to me so I'm not worried at all.

Anterior means the placenta is in front so apparently it's harder to feel movement...I have an anterior placenta but that didn't stop bubs kicking the crap out of me! lol I've been feeling movement since 18 weeks and this is my first baby.

For low lying placentas, it means the placenta is quite low, and should move out of the way when baby changes position ready for delivery. It only becomes a problem if the placenta does not eventually move higher up.

It's not a problem at all. Supposedly it means the kicks are more cushioned but I have an anterior placenta with this pregnancy and I have actually felt more movement and harder kicks than I felt with my last 2 so I guess it just all depends on the person and the baby. It just means the placenta is in the front though and it's not a big deal at all.

I have an anterior placenta as well. Doc says its like baby kicking a pillow inside your belly. You will still feel it - but maybe not as strong.
