A dilema-any opinions appreciated?

Hello ladiesThis is my 1st post on the forum and its a bit of a biggy. I am 20weeks pregnant and had my scan a week ago and ever since have thought i should of found out. Thing is, i have a beautiful boy and am dying to meet my baby but feel terrible inside as i feel like if i could choose, id choose a girl. Ive never said this to anyone but my partner. Please dont think im too bad as i will love my baby so much and i wish i never thought that and i have been very dissapointed in myself for even thinking it

My question is, would you find out now or wait till babies born if you felt like this? I just dont know whats for the best.

Hope someone can help.xx

Oh sweeite, your not the only one! I really want a girl, am to early to find out yet but I will be disappointed if it's a boy. It doesn't make you a bad person, it's something you can't help. And you even said yourself that you will still love your boy!

I really want a girl too and my OH thinks i should wait till its here rather than find out at the scan. I'm starting to think he's right as i know once its here i won't be dissapointed but know if they say Boy at the scan i'd be devastated!
we'll all love our children whatever it is so its not bad to have a preferance!

We all have a (sometimes secret) preference as to what we'd like to have. But honest, once you know for definite from the scan what it is, you are so chuffed just to know, that it all goes out the window. And if you don't find out until bubs is born, you may have a tiny second of disappointment, but then it's gone.
I was convinced that Lewis was a girl all the way through, and when they said 'it's a boy', I genuinely thought they'd made a mistake.... was gutted for all of about 3 seconds.. and then I held him....................

I had my 20 week scan on Wednesday and we didn't find out. OH had talked me into keeping it as a surprise. Really really want a little girl though. Am hoping it's true that I won't feel the disappointment as much after giving birth! lol You're not alone!

Think many people have a preference, but to be blunt you are lucky to be having a baby and you can not do any thing about the sex of it now!! I'm sure once the babygets here. you will adore him/her anyway. May be if you found out the sex you could start buying outfits, picking out names etc so you would feel closer when baby arrives. Don't be too hard on yourself

Lots of people feel disapointed if they know what they want and it turns out to be the opposite but it doesn't make you a bad person or a worse mum.

My OH really wanted a boy and I knew he's be disapointed if it turned out to be a girl. The day of the scan though be told me he'd be happy with a girl too and would be really protective over her. Then it turned out to be a boy and he shouted "yes" very loudly.

I truly, truly thought I was having a girl with this pregnancy. Until my 3D scan on Thursday when the sonographer said "here's the balls and here's the pee pee." I was HUH?! and shocked for a second, but it's all good.

I think if I would have went through my whole pregnancy thinking it was a girl and a boy came out, I might have felt a bit disappointed but not for long. At least this way, I know right now and am prepared.

I guess it's different for some too. I've already been blessed with a girl and a boy so whatever it was this time is an additional joy. Whereas some have only one child and want their next one to be of the opposite gender, usually.

Thank you all so much, i have given it alot of thought and decided not to find out as i just know that when my baby arrives all ill want is to hold and love it whether its a boy/girl. I have to say that i never had this feelling until the last couple of weeks and its stemmed from expectations of other people that i have to have a girl!

Thank you all so much, im not going to cry again about feeling like a horrid mum.x
