Personally id prefer to get it done before getting too close to due date, then you would have a bit more energy to go around the shops.

i started buying things as soon as i had got past the 12 week mark. i had everything by the time i was 20 weeks.

I had everything brought and all ready in the baby's room by about 20 - 24 weeks as I was too excited to leave it much longer

I'd recommend buying mostly everything a few weeks before your due date like the other girls have said
