I'm Currently Feeling: | Out of breath.... Hello ladies. I hope everyone is having a good day. I have one quick question for everyone. Since I have became pregnant, I have stopped working out. I walk pretty fast (normally) and I just went next door at work, went up 2 small flights of stairs and then back across the parking lot (very short distance) and I was out of breath. How could this be?? Am I really that out of shape already?? Do any of you experience this? I mean,. I feel like I just ran a marathon or something.
We did just get an old treadmill from my parents and I plan on walking on it as soon as my hubby moves it into the basement for me. I'm not a big person either so I don't understand why I get short of breath all the time. Is it because of the baby? |

| I think it's possible.
I sometimes run out of breath when I'm lying down at night. Especially if I've done a million and one things before getting to bed. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Trust me it happens... Before I got pregnant I ran 2 1/2 miles every morning 5 days a week but when i got preg. i was so sick at first then to tired so i havent really worked out at all and I feel shortness of breath as well...The scary thing is they say if you are out of shape you will have a harder time with labor. So we are also looking for a treadmill for that reason |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i still work out a minimum of 5 times a week and i know my fitness is still great, but i also get out of breath walking and stuff. Like tinytoes said, it is perfectly normal because our lungs are squished. Don't worry you don't lose your fitness that quickly.
It is definately a good idea to start walking on that treadmill though, it will help you get back into shape quicker once bubba is born. xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I also get out of breath when I am just sitting in my recliner (doing nothing). I start freaking out that I can't breath right and I'm sure that isn't good to do because then I kind of hyperventilate. I don't get it. I don't smoke (I quit last year in September). I see the doc today so I will bring it up but I just wanted to see if anyone else suffered from this like I do. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | HI
I was told breathlessness was quite normal, even when casually going up or down stairs in the house, our hearts are working overtime helping the extra pints of blood we are carrying pump around the body, so wouldn't worry too much, they say if you are say going for walk/swimming etc and you feel very out of breath..panting short breaths,,,,to stop and re gain normally breathing.
Hope this helps. |
