Don't see how being circumcised protects against sexually transmitted diseases?????? Willy belongs to them, teach them how to keep it clean. If they do not like it when they get older their decision to have it snipped.

I think it's a personal decision too, but that the decision should be the child's. It's their private parts after all. If my son wants to be circed when he's 18 (maybe 16 if he knows what he's doing), I'll gladly pay for it, and help him find the best surgeon around, but until then, I don't want anyone cutting parts off his penis.

If you wait, it's safer, it hurts less, and the results are cosmetically better.
thats what i thought but i had no problems at all getting a referral to have it done (in a public hospital).

It's not illegal here in QLD, my friend just had her boy done. It was done by a private doctor, and I don't think public hospitals do it. I know if I have a boy we will be having it done. It's tradition on both our sides and theres the majority or guys that are circumsised here.
As far as being teased... Honestly, nobody is going to know except the girls that they sleep with, so other guys won't tease them for having it done/not done.

i personally wouldnt get my son (if its a boy) circumsised simply because its not a nesecity or medically recomended not here anyway and quite out dated obiously if he has problems with his john thomas and its reccomended as treatment then fine. but not for asthetic reasons as annmarie said she has taught her son to pull the foreskin back and clean so as long as its cleaned foreskin isnt unhygienic . also a point id like to make in some cultures they circumsise the clitoris which is also pointless, cruel and quite medieval in my opinion.
