| Movement Hi all,
Don't know if I am worrying unecessarily but wondered if anyone else has experienced this. Baby was moving around a lot for the past few weeks and OH even felt kicks, but over the last 4-5 days the amount of movement has really reduced. Does this mean there is something wrong??? I am still only 23 weeks so surely it can't mean there is no space left! We have heard the heartbeat as I have a doppler so I don't really understand it. I do know that the placenta is in the anterior position so maybe this is affecting it??
Also, maybe this is tmi, but at times I feel he is kicking downwards but feel a little bit like muscle spasms in my lady bits(!). Do you think these are kicks as I only felt them since he has started kicking? Know wierd question but don't know who else to ask!
Thankyou all!
xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Not sure myself, I'm a few weeks earlier than you though, and the only movements I've felt are very sporadic. I have noticed that some days she seems more active than others, not sure if this is because I'm busy those days and just don't notice it as much or if she's just having a lazy day. Hopefully someone else can give you a better answer. |

| I think it means that the placenta is on the front wall so apparently it stops some of the kicks being felt. I could be wrong though! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | The baby has a big growth spurt between 24-26 weeks, so that may account for the slow down in movement. The baby's weight increases a lot in those 2 weeks. I remember noticing a difference right before 24 weeks. BUT as always, give your Dr or MW a call if you are really worried. A phone call does not put them out, and it will make you feel much better. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | As Samantha said, I would recommend contacting your doctor as you will be reassured. Also, remember that what you eat also affects baby's movement. For example, sweet or cold foods get baby moving more. When they check fetal movements in the hospital, they often get the mom to drink icy cold water. I know that when I was pregnant and I worried, a few times, I had a popsicle or cold drink and waited a few minutes. Sure enough, little baby got kicking around! Maybe you felt more movement after eating something like that... | | | | Status: Offline

| Thankyou everyone. I have an appt with the midwife on thurs so was going to speak to her about it then. Baby had a huge kicking fit for about half an hour yesterday evening but then has mostly stopped since then. So confusing.
Also - how low down do you feel the kicks? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi'ya hun
I feel the kicks very low down too. Sometimes it feels as tho her foot will pop out the next time she does it.
I find that when i eat she becomes more active and also when i am sitting, if i lean forward a little, that gets her going lol
They are coming up to the big growing stage tho so they will slow the kicking down and start piling on the baby fat |
