I often read what you've said and it confuses me. So someone please help lol

Last week when I went at 15 weeks my dr used the same equipment he does each time. It's like a ultrasound and doppler in one.
He uses the scanner to find the baby and to track down the heartbeat then he switches on the doppler when he's got a curser pointing over the heartbeat and then you can hear it. He picked it up at 8 weeks.

What are the methods the dr's there use??

I've just had my 16 week appointment with my m/w. She did listen for heartbeat with doppler, but that didn't seem to be the focus of the appointment. She also weighed me and took my blood pressure, then took some blood for the tripple test. Please dont worry yourself about the appointment, I'm sure baby's pretty active now so finding the heartbeat will be quite easy for your m/w now. Good luck

Ive just been for my 16 week appointment. Mw took my blood pressure and weight, listened to babys heartbeat and then we had a chat about the triple test and she took some blood for it.
Im sure they will be able to hear the heartbeat but sometimes its not always possible. My baby's was really quiet - I could hardly hear it (not sure why) I had expected it to fill the room with noise!!

At 16 weeks the heartbeat of your LO will be strong. I hope that your midwife does check so that it can ease your mind.

I see my doctor every 4 weeks right now, and he started to use the doppler when I was 12 weeks. He couldn't find it.

My next appointment is tomorrow but my mind has been eased since my hubby found the heartbeat with our doppler last Thursday.

Pregnancies! So full of anxieties!

Hi everyone, just got back from my appointment!
The midwife just checked my blood pressure and urine sample.
She also used the doppler, it took her a couple of mins but found babys heart beat yay
That has put my mind at ease although was so worried when she couldnt find it at first!
she said all is well and not seeing her again for 6 weeks after my scan.
Thanks for all your kind words and support.
Pregnancy seems to be just a constant worry i just want to start enjoyin it.

Hello! Im sure you will be fine to be honest it was only like a five min appointment but listening to the heartbeat was amazing! dont worry if it takes a while to find the hb straight away it's just cause the baby is so small at this stage.
My 20 week scan is on the 17th april, so a day after yours lol so i will be asking you all the questions! I cant wait for 20 week ssan and its still like four weeks away aaaaaah thats ages!
All the best with your mw and let me know how you get on.
PS have you felt any movement i haven't as yet(another thing i'm inpatiently waiting for lol)
