I'm Currently Feeling: | MIGRANES! Just wondering if any of you ladies out there know if migranes are something to worry about? I am well into my 20th week and I get a migrane/EXTREMELY bad headache everyday. I sleep roughly 10 hours a night, I drink water all day, take my vitamins and eat healthy. Should I call my doctor ? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi, I get really bad migraines and have had a few over the last few weeks but not any more than usual. I googled it for you and found this from the migraine trust: When I went to see my GP to confirm the pregnancy etc he said how are your migraines and I said fine no worse. He said I can onlyt ake paracetamol and condeine if I absolutely have to. But the normal drugs are take are a defo no. I would go and see your doctor anyway but read the stuff below:- Take Care LUCYXXXX
Migraine in pregnancy
Hormonal change in women is a common trigger for those prone to migraine. This is often shown in pregnancy when the sex hormone levels show profound changes which has an effect on whether your migraine get better or worse. Oestrogen sometimes reaches one hundred times the normal level, whilst progesterone levels decrease, rising again towards the end of the pregnancy. However, the fluctuation of levels is not as pronounced as during the non-pregnant state, which may be why migraine often improves during pregnancy. This improvement may also be due to the increased levels of natural pain-killing hormones (endorphins). These are several times higher during pregnancy, and though the relief from migraines they provide might last the whole pregnancy, the levels settle back down after delivery, normally allowing migraine attacks to recur.
However, it is not always the case that your migraine will improve, especially in the early weeks of pregnancy. For some women, migraine can go on unchanged, or more rarely even get worse. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I suffer from them too, I had to go on the mini-pill before as it was hormonal, I've had 2 in the last month and found the for-head strips quite good, one on the back of the neck and one on the head plus 1 parecetemol, thats the only thing that seems to ease it!

I'm Currently Feeling: | sounds the same as mine, it seems to creep from the back of my neck, round the side of my head and is at its worse on the eyes,
Thats why I put the strips at the front and back as they seem to ease it a little, theres not a lot else you can do, are you being sick with them as well as the first one I had I couldnt hold anything down for ages!
Good luck at the docs! | | | | Status: Offline
