I'm Currently Feeling: | Amnio Test Well, I had opted to have one done as I am a number of years over 35. But, after much deliberation yesterday and researching about the test, I decided that I will be speaking to my doctor on Tuesday and don't want to go through with it.
Perhaps I am scared, but I also don't like the risks involved. There is no Downs Syndrome on either side of my family and I truly think that all will be well with my baby. I hope anyhow. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You have to make whatever decision is right for you. Like you said there's no history of downs syndrome on either side of the family. I'm sure everything is fine with you and baby |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hiya
You have to do what you feel comfortable with. I know that some of the info on Amnio leads for pretty scary reading. Can they not tell a bit on the scan your due for... things like nasal bone and if there is any back surge of blood from the heart...... Also there's the triple blood test... all things to do before having to have an amnio. I know you wanted the definitive test sooner rather than later.. but you could do it this way ( saying that, I bet your bubs is 100% perfect ). |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm sure your baby will be fine hun. I'm not sure I could have the amnio which is why I'm having the nuchal scan on top of the standard triple test we get here in the UK and hopefully that will give me a really good idea without the risk.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Does downs run in families?. I have had4 amnios without any problems. They gave me piece of mind as hubby has some dodgey chromosomes that are present in some of his sperm. Abortion was not something we would have considered but we wanted time to prepare ourselves if test had shown up something. All the best in your decision. | | | | Status: Offline

| I can understand why you wouldn't want to go through with it.
I have to go for my triple blood test later this week and I'm so afraid something comes back wrong. I dont believe there is anythiing wrong though.
Good luck with your decision. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | These decisions we have to make are really tough!!
I had to have my triple test nearly two weeks ago now and am driving myself insane worrying about the results.
Me and oh decided if i was very high risk we would opt for the amnio, although reading up on it myself i'm not too sure!!
Are you having the triple test???
would this help you to make a decision?!
Im sure tho your LO will be just fine I think sometimes we just need to have faith in that.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I will be talking to my doctor about the blood test. I had read on the internet that you have to have them done by 14 weeks but I read back in my pregnancy journal for my daughter and I had had it done at 17 weeks. So, yes, I will go through with the blood test. |

Brave girl you are for going through 4 amnios but I can certainly see it in your case due to your husband's chromosomes. |
