Has anyone experienced....

Braxton Hicks yet? I managed to get over to sleep last night eventually but was woken up with an uncomfortable pain in my bump. It was as if my tummy tightened and went hard. It didn't last very long but was quite uncomfortable. Don't think it helped that i tensed up cos i didn't know what it was. This happened 3 times last night with about 20 mins between each one. Were these actually Braxton Hicks i experienced? I am just over 18 weeks. Or is this something i should be worried about? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It does sound like BH but I am not sure at what stage you start getting them at! Have you had any more?

I've noticed a couple over the past week or so. Your uterus ontracts all through pregnancy so I've just assumed it's normal.

Thanks all for replying. Haven't had any more today but have felt LO move more (usually just at night). I googled Braxton Hicks and apparently you can have them as early as 16 weeks. A possible contributer to Braxton Hicks is tiredness. So whoever has read my other thread will know i haven't really been sleeping this past week or so. I am putting it down to that and i guess it's just another one of those pregnancy joys.

It'll just be your tummy practising for the birth... they can be a bit uncomfortable, but I'm sure everything is fine. Speak to your mw if your really concerned and she can put your mind at ease
( try not to Google too much... can be a really bad idea )

I started getting them at about 18 weeks, funny things!!! It says you should get advice if you experience more than four in an hour!

Have you ever seen the friends episode where Rachel experiences Braxton Hics??? No uterus, no comment!!

Havent gotten them yet or perhaps I didnt even notice since I have a high tolerance level for pain. My pregnancy has been so easy so far that I'm thinking that perhaps my delivery will make up for it! I hope not!
