I think you do, the appoitment letter that i got through the post said to drink a litre and a half of water around an hour before the scan.
Good luck with the scan x

I was told for my 20 weeks scan (the only one we get in Canada) to drink a full 2 glasses of water an hour before my appointment. (Here's hoping this time around they don't forget about me in the waiting room and leaving me doing a "peepee" dance for a further 2 hours. Yikes!!)

i actually drank 15 ounces on my way to the appt (started about 45 minutes before). i get uncomfortable so fast with a full bladder and have spasms. this amount and time worked perfectly for me, the scan was great!

it really depends on the US machine, give them a call. Mine didn't need a full bladder and I was actually asked to empty it even though I thought it was empty
