I had the jab yesterday, and I only have a bruised and aching arm, which is perfectly normal. I was also told people were known to have a dodgy tummy for a day or so, so that's considered normal too.

Have you spoken to your doctor or midwife? As you say, I think it's a severe reaction, and it's important to highlight that your reaction is probably very rare, so people shouldn't be worried to have the jab, but at the same time, if you have a bad reaction, you should talk to a medical professional. Hope you feel better soon

Your baby should be fine. Sounds like your body was just more sensitive to the virus. If anything, you'll have a much stronger immunity to the flu because of the reaction. Definitely call your MW if your worried.

If you haven't been checked by a doctor yet I would definitely get to see them ASAP. Not sure how it effects baby but bad reactions to any vaccine deserves a visit to be checked. A few of the really rare reactions can be permanent so you need to see just how severe yours is.

they say the flu jab doesnt affect the baby more than the antibodies you get get a bit transferred thru the placenta which is supposed to give the baby some protection.

I bypass vaccine reactions by taking Tylenol (paracetamol, acetaminophen) round the clock for 2 days (safe in pregnancy). Did this for H1N1 and my seasonal flu shot and was fine. This is what I recommend for my patients and my family!
