Health in pregnancy grant and sure start mat


Hi i am 25 weeks and have just applied for the health in pregnancy grant i was just wandering anyone else who had applied for it how long does it usually take?
Also we are already receiving child tax credits so does this mean we will be able to apply for the sure start maternity grant does anyone know?

Hi, I am 25 weeks tomorrow so will be applying for the heath in pregnancy grant on thrusday when im next with midwife. I would also like to know how long this takes to come through so will be keeping an eye on this post

Hey hun, you need to be on rate higher than just the family element of child tax credits, or the disability element for working tax credits. Unless you're getting IS or JSA?? Here's a link:

Oh and I've heard that the health in pregnancy grant can take anything from 2 weeks to 6 weeks....seems to depend on area sadly.

Just popping over from 3rd tri, at the moment there seems to be a VERY big backlog on these grants. Most of us have already waited 3 plus weeks, and being told not to chase the application until its been 6 weeks.

I have been told by my midwife to wait until after Christmas to apply for HIP grant as the offices will be shut down for Christmas so will end up waiting anyway!! Just my luck to be bang on 25 weeks at Xmas!!

Same here, I'll be 25 weeks on Christmas week! Gonna wait until after Christmas to see midwife so she can sign my form...

hiya


hiya everyone am 30+1 weeks and i sent my form of 4 weeks ago i rang them on monday and they didnt have any record of me said its taking 6 weeks and to ring back next week hope all is well x

Just spoke to my friend, she said she sent off her forms on 1st November, and then heard nothings! She rang them yesterday and they said she weren't on the records! :\ How annoying!
