Microwave or Electric steriliser? Personal Opinions Please

Hey girls,

Im looking to hear all your personal opinions and experience of the 2 types of sterilisers. I have my eye on the Avent one but have no idea which one is best. Any advice and opinions most appriciated

well i have had both and i prefer the microwave one, its smaller and faster

i had the avent steam one for my first two children and it was bulky and took longer,

i swapped to the avent microwave one for my last baby and have one for this baby too and am far happier with it

x

I had the Avent electric steriliser (the 24 hr one) and it was excellent. You set it off and it kept sterile for 6 hrs, then if you hadn't opened it then re-sterilises every 6 hrs in a 24 hour period I think!

I would highly recommend it, it fit 6 avent bottles and we also could squeeze in a few dummys!

I admit I can't imagine anything getting sterilized in our microwave -lol! I was wondering about these too, but we have a dishwasher as well which I believe can be used. It has a sterilize option. I'll have to do more research.

I bought the Tommee Tippee electric steriliser after asking a few people with children for their opinions. Obviously microwave is quicker and they can be used as cold water sterilisers too but I don't like the idea of that. We've got the space for the electric one so I just went with that! X

i got the tommee tippee microwave one last time but we found that because the items only stay sterile for so long we were constantly microwaving things that hadnt been used every few hours! so we used it as a container and put milton fluid in it.. this way everything stayed sterile in it until it needed to be used.. we found that sooooooo handy!

xx
