I got a call from a midwife on Friday early evening telling me I had a uti (good job it's only taken them two weeks to tell me eh?!). She said I needed some anti-biotics so less than an hour later I had them in my hot sweaty hand. I had no symptoms to speak of so was quite surprised but get to the docs to make sure it is one and they will sort you out pronto. good luck x

i sometimes borderline infection but used to suffer more so before preg. i would suggest that you drink loads of water (i would recommend 2 big glasses now)...it will help flush out the bugs. when your urine is concentrated, it makes peeing more uncomfortable cos there is less urine and it stings more. drinking more water will help relieve these issues, diluting and increasing the amount of urine.

Hi, I had two water infections, one after the other in my first trimester. Awful, so I do sympathise. I was straight down the docs as for me I was getting shooting pains down my left hand side so being a worrier, thought it was an ectopic. Too early on in the pregnancy for that to show, but test showed very clearly I had a water infection.

Get to the GPs honey, they will give you something to get rid of it. I also drink cranberry juice everyday as it contains stuff that the bugs don't like.

Hi hun sorry to hear about your water infection i suffer all the time and know its horrid.

Defo get yourself to the docs just to make sure its nothing nasty and im sure you will be fine in the next few days. Paracetamol is ok to take if you have pains and drink LOADS of water and cranberry juice and altho it will make you go even more your wee wont be so concentrated therefor wont sting as much when you do go.

I ease the discomfort i find running a very shallow bath enough to sit in to cover yourself down there with the water and if you wee in that it really does take the edge off! I know its really gross and make sure you have a wash after with a soap like E45 or Dove soap (i always use these down there) as perfumed soaps can make it worse and and give the bath a little scrub after!

Hope this helps and hope you feel better soon
xx
