A question. When is your probation over? Before or after you have your baby? Would they have to pay you for maternity leave when your probation is over?
If it is over before you have your baby, and you are entitled to maternity pay, do you think they are trying to rid of you before they have to pay it? Sounds cold, yes, but many employers out there are and when it comes to saving a buck, they will. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | You do not have to provide them with a sick note unless your having more then 7 days off, thats law!
my work don't ask me to provide them with proof of any of the appointments i go to, they just trust me to be going! How rude. I do know some companys do ask for proof though. Show them your scan letter like you said you would. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | what your employer is doing is ILLEGAL. go to or call your citizen advice center TODAY and tell them all this. They will advise you what action you need to take. I'll copy a link to the direct.gov site where you can read on employment rights while pregnant. http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employme...es/DG_10026556
Hope this helps. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | ok, contact citizens advice, like said above.
The doctor will listen if you tell them how stressed you are about work, and if you get upset telling them then it just proved your point doesnt it? they wont mind in the slightest, the doctors have to care about your health, they get paid for it, so they will go with whats best for that. but yeah, deffo report your work. it'll be ok |

I'm Currently Feeling: | i have just returned from the doctors armed with a sick note for 2weeks for threatend miscaridge and a telephone number for ACAS they're an employment rights advisory service my doc gave me the number and said ive got a good case to claim for compensation.
my manager called me whilst i was in the doctors room, in fact she rang about 5 times i apologised to my doctor and she asked if she could answer it for me... by christ she did, the things she was saying aswell asking my manager if she was human and if she had a sympathetic bone in her body. haha she tore in to my manager good style calling her a disgrace and asking for her superiors telephone number.
my doctor suggested signing me off until i go on mat leave!!!!!
i said ill see how i am after these 2 weeks, she thinks im stupid not to as i get full sick pay.
im a bit more chilled ive got two weeks off to relax (and veg on here and ebay) haha.
just hope everything is fine tomorrow thats my main worry, its nice to know my doc is backing me up. she even did me a cup of tea lol |

I'm Currently Feeling: | When I started reading I wondered whether u worked in a call centre & then read that u do..
Im sorry hun but this is generally the kind of treatment to expect in that kind of environment. They dont care about ppl's feeling, all thats important is stats/calls etc.
It's not nice I know, but working in a calm environment can be stressful whilst pregnant, it must be so much worse in a call centre...
Could you manage financially if u packed the job in? | | | | Status: Offline
