Antenatal classes

Just been for my midwife appointment and asked about Antenatal classes in the area. There are no free ones!! I cant beleive it. She gave me two leaflets for different ones in the area, 3 courses at one place cost £125! i dont think so!! Fortunately there is another 3 course class which costs £32, a lot better, still think its something we should have to pay for though!!

Anyone else having to pay??

I had MW appointment yest too and got leaflet about them - my hosp offers a 2 visit course but it's not very good aparently and not good for meeting people. As I don't know many people in my area I want a more social one.

There's 2 you can pay for and the one I'm going to go for is 95 pounds for 4 sessions

we're choosing to pay - we've booked NCT ones. we wanted something a bit more comprehensive than the NHS ones.

Must be irritating when theres no choice

Heya,

Heres the website

http://www.nctpregnancyandbabycare.com/home

You dont actually have to be a member to attend thier antenatal classes or any of thier other classes - membership has the perk that you get in first to thier nearly new sales and get thier newsletters etc but i think thats about it.

Their breastfeeding, birth and pregnancy and baby helplines are all free. They also run local mother and baby/mother and bump groups (you pay a small attendance fee) and parenting/antenatal classes.

All the details are on thier website. I hope that helps.

Xxxx
