I haven't had it done myself yet (still a little early) but from what I've read on other girls experiences it's not that bad. Apparently they just take a small swab from the outside area. Still embarrassing, but not as bad as it could be!

i wish they did that here as routine cause its a dangerous virus to pass on to baby. iknow it will be a horrible test to have done. over here you
can do it your self if you prefere and send the results to a lab maybe thats ok to in spain to you should find out.

Like Vickie said, its not at all that bad. Its over in a few seconds . Its usually not done here until 34 weeks+. Don't worry hon, I'm sure you'll do fine

You don't have to have it done. I don't know if they do it as a routine part of your care in Spain. I know they don't in the UK or France. You can turn it down but it's a good idea to have it done if you can. It's better to know if you're a carrier after all rather than take the risk.

It's nothing to worry about. They don't poke the swab far up there. I think it's something like 1cm so really close to the outside and it won't hurt. You just have to relax. They take one from your vagina too.

I had one when I went to L&D 2 weeks ago. It really isnt bad - the just take 2 qtips and touch 1 to the outside of your vagina and one touches your anus. It doesnt hurt and takes less than 2 seconds. Nothing at all compared to having fingers/speculum/etc shoved up the hoo-haw!

I had this done with my first pregnancy, and even though you know they're going to do it, it takes one second and you'll hardly notice that they did anything, I promise! It is really important to do since Strep B can be really bad for baby if you have it. It's no biggie!

I've had it done at my last visit (34 weeks) I was so scared, but it turned out to be nothing really! Just the tip of a swab at the entry of your vagina and anus, it's over within 10 seconds!! Plus, it's safer for baby!

Don't worry about it too much
