Thanks so much ladies. My doctor said he doesn't recommend the stitch at this point because it can do more harm than good being I'm already 21 weeks and my cervix is too short. I have also read stories online of women's cervix gettin longer while on bedrest, I'm praying that it happens to me. The scary part is I never knew this was going on, I never felt any different. So if it wasn't for my 20 weeks scan on friday I would still be carrying on with my daily routines and puting my baby in danger. I'm so thankful the doctors noticed it in time. I'll definitly keep everyone updated

try not to think about what you could have done had you known any sooner, you know how and knowledge is power so now you can act,

when are you due back to the hospital?

stay rested on your butt chick and sleep and eat well

x x

I'm currently at the hospital now on bedrest. I've been here since the scan on friday. I'm not sure when I'll be going home, but either way I'm gonna still be on strict bedrest.

hi,
i have been diagnosed with an incompetent cervix, which means that it isn't necessarily short but it is too weak to stay closed to 40 weeks. due to this i had a stitch placed at 12 weeks. i've also been on progesterone pessaries daily as research has shown that they can ben very effective in keeping your cervix long and closed. there's a site called "i am pregnant" and on there a forum for people with cervical problems. it may be worth a look and will kill half hour for you on bedrest!
there's a study done by Tommay's charity recently on the effect of progesterone in preventing preterm labour so may be worth talking to your doctor about.

Hi I also have a short cervix, I had my stitch put in at 14 weeks. I am also having the progesterone pessaries, my consultant says they keep your cervix happy and stop it from contracting. Its good that the noticed on your scan and now will be able to look after you.

hi hun i too have a short cervix, i recently had a stitch put in, the bed rest will stop any undue pressure on your cervix and take you as far along as you can go, that may well be 35 weeks plus. i really hope you stay positive and you are in the best hands, they really will do everything possiblly they can. best of luck xxx

Thanks so much ladies, I do believe that I'll make it past 30 weeks as long as I'm on bedrest. I've been reading storied of ladies being on bedrest for 15 weeks with the same condition and have great outcomes (fullterm babies)
