I think its very pathetic for people to get so wound up about it, and be bitchy towards other members! I dont know whats gone on and dont care to be honest, nothing deserves that attitude!

i think its ridiculous, isnt this what this site is about.. a forum?? a forum is for discussions.. topics. pregnancy related topics and swine flu is a major topic at the mo that alot of pregnant women will be seeking info on, more so probably from other pregnant women.
naturally things are going to get heated at times because everyone has their own opinions and views but again that is the point of this, for different opinions and views.. if we all thought the same or only ever typed what other people wanted to hear and not our true feelings would their be any point in having a forum?
i dont think threads like this should get shut down because of this, maybe if things did get spitefull and/or personal towards a member deal with those members instead?
but dont shut down a topic that has been alot of help for people because of different views and opinions.

anyways

Sorry - but of you think this is balanced helpful information for women trying to make a difficult decision then I'd say that was ridiculous.

If you need a new thread with this sort of information then I would make it clear the content you are intending to talk about within the thread title.

Also, you can still view the thread, up until about page 29 the information is all pretty helpful. I find it funny people are bothered a thread that has now turned into a sci fi special has been closed.

I'd wonder what the opinion would be If I posted a link to a web page for all the people not having the vaccine that they are likely to die and kill their babies and are selfish because they dont care if they catch swine flu (which by the way is NOT my opinion!). Im sure those of you not having the vaccine would be unhappy about that. So why the hell should those having the vaccine be posted links to crap about they are going to die from a government cover up of what the vaccine is actually for.....

please!!!! I didnt even realise some people were this stupid! But by all means - re open the thread, and lets see where it goes next! Maybe aliens are all going to start abducting the people that have had the vaccine!!!! Oooohhh - scary!
So anyone who has an opposing opinion to you is "stupid"?

The last lines of your post are just silly.

As far as I can see it got closed down because certain people did not like an alternative viewpoint raised by another member, took it out of all context and got all hysterical uneccessarily. There were no personal attacks.

Totally undemocratic.

Off to a great start I see... the starting comments along with thread title is just looking to cause an more atmosphere.

If you lot don't take personal swipes at each other (that comment was directed at anyone specific), the thread will be re-opened and moved to the general chatter (as this isn't just a second trimester topic). I will warn you now though, it will be monitored and infractions will be dished out to anyone ignoring our conduct rules.
If anyone leaves or gets banned through 'CHOOSING' to take part in the thread (and ignoring the rules), then so be it.

Why on earth have we been singled out? What on earth was offensive in my original post and that of my colleagues?

It cannot be that we have dared to criticise the powers that be?

Where on earth do you get that BnB is a democracy? You ignored the OP and took it back to the old thread and not starting a fresh!?

I merely agreed that the post should not have been closed.

As I said noone had verbally attacked one other, there was no swearing. There was just a mere difference of opinons.

Are we not allowed to do this?

What happened?! Why did it get closed? I think if people didn't like the alternative view points they should have either left the discussion or ignored it. I would like to state that I am pro-vaccination, just not pro this vaccine because there is no evidence for it's safety or efficacy and I don't trust anything where I can't see the research and know there has been a double-blind placebo clinical trial to prove it works! I've said all along that it depends on your personal risk and fears whether taking the vaccine is best for you.
Information is hard to come across. When I spoke to my midwife, she didn't have a clue and I don't feel I can talk to my GP now as there is a conflict of interest due to the DoH giving them financial incentives to hit targets.

I've just gone and cleared out the posts that took the thread offtopic...

are you going to carry on taking pot shots at what happened, or are you going to draw a line under it and carry on with the thread when it gets opened?
