Full bladder or no full bladder that is the question! - Page 3

lol @ the conflicting things we're being told for our scans! Well I was told to have a full bladder and it was pointed out in my appointment letter for the 16 week scan. But my 20 week scan letter says no such thing and I was told I did not need a full bladder verbally by the midwife for the 20 week scan.

So I've just added more confusion probably!

I was told by midwife to have full bladder when going for the 12wk scan, but not for the 20wk scan - all was fine.

I had a gender scan with Babybond at 28wks. They never mentioned about having a full bladder - but I did drink lots just in case- the sonographer got a fright by the size of my bladder!! - bladder was so big that baby had not much space to move around! She instructed me to go to loo!!!

I went with a full bladder to my scans at 20 and 21 weeks. I wasn't sure and thought it was better to go with a full bladder and be asked to empty it than to go with an empty bladder and have to wait around and drink water to fill it.

In the end I wasn't asked to empty it xx

Hows this for confusing!
My 20 week scan on wednesday, they said to drink a pint in the hour before so I did, when she started the scan, it was too full, she showed me on the screen and my bladder was swuashing the baby up so I had to go empty it! I really think it depends on the positing of the baby etc, I would go full as you can always empty it!

i didnt have a full bladder and had to go back two weeks later to complete the scan! this was great seeing baby again but i felt a plonker cos my letter quite clearly said please drink 1.5 pts 45 mins before!!!

it doesnt need to be full- dont pee after an hour before and drink 1 glass of water in that time
