Scan - bladder full with clear liquid?

Sorry for the daft question, and after so many scans over the years for different things you'd think I'd know the answer now!

I don't have an appointment letter to check either

So when I go for my next scan, must I have drunk clear liquid or is juice/coffee (caffeine free of course) ok?

Thanks
Chele x

any liquid is fine!! Just so your bladder is pretty full so they have a "window" to look through!! Just try not to make yourself too full or else you wont enjoy the scan cos they'll be pressing hard on your bladder!!! hee hee!! xxx

I want to go to Starbucks first you see as my scan is 9.30 :-)

Oh boy I've got into trouble before with having a too full bladder. Was nearly embarrassing!

I drunk 1 pint of water an hour before and had a great picture & didn't feel too uncomfortable either. I think if you drink any more than that you might feel like you'll be about to burst.

Do you still need to drink plenty of fluids before the anomaly scan then?

Ive just received my appt for my 20wk scan and it says to drink 1 pint of water 1 hour before my appt...

its best to go with a full bladder as you can easily go for a wee once you get there if its not required - whereas if your bladder is empty and they require it full you will have to hang around for ages drinking to try & fill it up iyswim? xx

I peed right before my scan on monday and the view was just fine! I don't think it matter much at this stage. It's early on that it matters more.

At the 20 weeks scan there should be plenty of amniotic fluid around baby making the picture clearer.... later on when there is less fluid is when they make sure you have a full bladder. I believe.
