no weight gain yet

I am 17.4 weeks pregnant and have not gained ANY weight. The doc was worried last month that I was in saying that if I dont gain I will have to go in Each week to check on baby. I am soooo worried, i eat but no gain. Any one else have this problem? When did you start gaining weight

Everybody gains weight differently and at different times. I wouldn't worry too much about it yet.

I saw midwife at 16wks and told her I had not gained any weight as I was a bit worried. She said that was perfect as we shouldnt really gain anything in first 14wks or so.

I was only 9.4stone to start with. After around 19wks I started to put on weight.

I am now 32wks and have put on total of around 23 lbs - dont know where its all gone as I have the tiniest bump ever! It is all baby the midwife says??

As long as you are eating a good varied diet-lots fruit&veg then try not worry.

I have lost about 7lbs and i am nearly 6 months pregnant, apparently nothing to worry about, now the weight is starting to creep on, think it is my new healthy diet with no wine to blame!!!!!

I am still the same weight as I was pre pregnancy as the only weight I have put on is what I lost during first tri - Obstetric Consultant and Midwife have both said its fine and will happen in due course x

it depends on a lot of things especially but especially if you started overweight or you have been throwing up a lot. if you started overweight then its fine even good not to gain and even to lose. the whole of the first tri its not really important to gain and even the beginning of the second. have you had a scan yet? if you have and they did not comment on the baby's size then dont worry. i have only gained 2 kilos so far and I had gained far more with my first and i did not start overweight or throw up a lot i just have food aversions and cant seem to eat much. my doctor said up until now she was not worried and that if i stay static then we are going to see, she did not give me much info. anyway the point is its still early for you but if you are worried then maybe you can ask for a scan.

try eating food high in carbs like potatoes, pastas, and breads see if that helps.
