Low back pain already - is this normal ?

The last couple of days i have started with abit of low back pain. Not really painful but just uncomfortable. its the same feeling i used to get when my period was about to start.

i know you can get backache in pregnancy but i thought it was much later on.

is anyone else having anything like this ? I am 18 weeks this sunday and other than this, i feel absolutely fine.

(I did have a midwife appt 2 days ago and everything was fine - so i am not excessively worries - just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this)

I have been getting lower back pain for the last 3 weeks now its terrible when I am at home on my day off sitting around I am fine but if I am standing up at work for a as little as half hour there is pain I dont have much of a bump either so I am putting it down to the baby growing into the back.

iv been getting lower back pain on and off since early on in my pregnancy, iv got today n all.

It's probably caused by your ligaments stretching and loosening - along with your pelvis. Try and manage the pain with warm baths etc, paracetamol etc - but if it starts affecting everything you do - go to your GP. You should get a referral to a physio if it's bad x

Yup!! I'd had the same ache for the past week or so and I am 22 weeks. I am sure it is completely normal. I've found it is starting to affect my sleep this week too.
