Someone cheer me up before I burst into tears

I've come to work and having a hellish morning.

Some woman on the bus pushed past me to get off even though we were all stood waiting to get off. She then fell backwards on me elbowing me in the tummy causing me to yell at her and inform the whole bus I was pregnant.

I get to work and I am inundated with stuff to do and my boss is being "off" with me and then informs me I owe the girl covering my role a MASSIVE thank you cos if it wasn't to her, me being off sick left them in the world of shit and this girl had to give up her weekends to come in!

I'm then told I look "ill" and "pale" and not "very well at all"

Hope you are all having a better day than me!

thats aweful, i really cont understand why people are not more understanding. I get it all the time at work, people moaning at me saying i shouldnt be off ill at this stage in my pregnancy. Really annoying. I dont understand why people have the need to make us feel guilty? Its not as if we are doing it on purpose! As for the bus, i would be exactly the same, i shout at everyone!! Just try to ignore them all, i know its hard, but keep thinking abour your babies and the future, that should keep you going. Hope things improve for you soon.

Sorry to hear your having a bad start to your day, fingers crossed it will get better, I'm sending you 4 hugs, one for you and one for each of your bambinos lol x

Silly rude woman on the bus - I live in Leeds too so I know they can be some pushy people around, I'm glad you gave her a good telling off!

Well tell your f**kwit boss that SHE owes the girl who covered you a massive thank you... you owe no one anything because you are paid to do a job. If you are sick you get SSP from the government, so are not being paid by them. You are entitled to be sick, especially when you have been as ill as you have. You owe the company naff all. So tell her to go do one. If it was your company then yeh, sure, you'd owe her a favour, but you don't!

I wish you were having a better time back at work seeing as it is your first day back. Have they arranged a back to work interview or discussed a phased return? Phased return are common-place when pregnant women have taken such a chunk of time off as they are supposed to help you get back without too much pressure.

If I was at work right now (and I'm not because I'm signed off), then I know I'd have a severe case of STFU.

Just land this pic on her desk. She's sure to get the message.

Nope, nothing, just a load of work to plough through.

I seriously hate this place.

You know I "passed" my 3 month probationary period and then when I was off sick again with pregnancy related illness they extended it on that basis to get out of paying me sick pay?! They STILL haven't had a meeting with me about that or given me another contract to sign etc.

I feel like packing it in and going on the dole.

I know it was an accident this morning but if she had caused me to fall to the floor and landed directly ON me who knows what could have happened...it ain't worth coming to this shit hole for!

Thanks girls

xx

OMG! You poor thing. You know, i know people can be rude and ignorant but really I have so noticed this more while I have been pregnant! I was getting off the plane the other day and this man just all of a sudden shoved past me to get into the isle and elbowed me in the stomach as well. I was fuming. He never even said sorry! I know how you feel I would have been fuming and upset myself in your position.

I just cannot believe your work!!!! Well I can... I worked for NEXT in the UK and the first department I worked for were fine at first, then they started to be nasty and awkward and made my life hell in the end. I would cry every day when I went to take the cheques over to a different building... sometimes they would follow me and if I even made a call on my phone I was dragged into the office. It really depressed me.

You owe your colleague a BIG thank you?? What, so if she was not off sick then you would never cover for her? We cover for people every day in our department, for maternity leave, long term sick, 4 weeks holiday in one go and we dont think nothing of it... we do it as people would do for us and thats the way it should be. I am so mad they have made your day so awful they should be ashamed of themselves!!!

I would rise above it and say "yes i look ill because I still am and therefore maybe I should go home again since you have such fantastic cover!!" Gave up her weekends.... yeah well I gave up all my weekends to work 7 days a week for months so I guess she will SURVIVE!

Rise above these inconsiderate and selfish morons... is there anyone you could speak to there maybe? Someone higher or another colleague who might understand.

Keep well and take care and try not to get too stressed (although i can sympathise with how you feel, really)
