Work rant.. deleted from yesterday

I had a long email complaining about my co-workers and how trashy our work place is. Just to refresh the main event from yesterday, I went to go warm up my lean cuisine in the lunch room and a cock roach crawled out of the microwave. I mean WTF right??? So of course, like any normal person, I freaked out and started complaining about how nasty that was. Well, there are these 2 women that I eat lunch with and they both have an opinion on something and one of them thinks she is always right and always has to run her big freaking mouth about something. She says to me, "just cover your food up and it will be okay". She was serious too. It makes me wonder what is living in her house that she just ignores.

Anyways, the cock roach bothered me so bad that I complained about it to someone else so they called the bug guy to come and spray the facility immediately. He was here earlier today. Well, at 1:00, I went to lunch and got chewed out by that girl because I was supposed to notify her to call the bug guy and not someone else. She said, if you would have just told me, then I would have done something about it. Well, I did but she didn't care. Anyways, I just said (all bitchy like), I did say something but you didn't do anything about it so I called someone who did. Aw ha.... she got all quiet and then started bitching again. Am I wrong for making a big deal out of this? I mean, when I go to the lunch room to eat my food, I don't want roaches to crawl out of the microwave that I'm getting ready to heat my food up in. I know that I work for a cable company and we have cable boxes from customer's houses that have roaches in them, but the warehouse is clear on the otherside of the lunch room, yet they still make their way in there and everyone acts like it is a normal thing. I apologize if this is a stupid rant but thanks for reading.

Well at lest you don't have to use the same freezer that they put dead animals like at my work (work at a small vet clinic). I just keep telling myself "last 2 weeks last 2 weeks". But yeah you have every right to complain they have to provide you with a safe work envornment even if you weren't pregnant.

Whether you are pregnant or not, no-one should have to put up with a cockroach crawling out of the microwave at work. Thats just disgusting! You have every right to rant away as much as you like!

Ugh! Cockroaches! Hate them. Here, insects seem to be a far worse problem though.

We don't have a problem with them at work. It's at home that they seem to be indestructable!
We live out on a farm though so getting rid of creepy crawlies is tricky.
I've lost count of the amount of times we've fumigated our house. They just keep coming back!!!

But I'd definately complain. I'm already getting my speech ready for my boss when I discuss maternity leave with him next week. I don't know about anywhere else but until recently smoking in public places wasn't really a problem here. Last year it became illegal and the boss finally put a stop to it in our offices but it would appear some people didn't get the memo. Everytime he isn't around they sit and smoke in the office and bathroom.... and around me!

Gabi, if smoking in your work place is not prohibited and people are doing it anyway, I would say something to your boss about it. You have yourself and your baby to worry about and you have the right to a smoke free environment. I hope that gets better for you.
