Everywhere I look there is stuff saying that you should advoid laying flat after 1st 3 months to do excersice - does this apply to just laying on your back?? Im still comfortable (atm) laying down either in bed or on sofa - is this safe????x

i was told it's still ok for me to sleep on my back. i guess its when we get more weighty. i try and avoid sleeping like that as much as I can though.

I have heard that around 16 weeks you are no longer supposed to lay on your back for more than 20 minutes at a time because it limits the blood supply to the baby.

you're not supposed to lay on your back for long as it limits the blood supply to your baby. But i find it really uncomfortable to lay flat anyway.. my spine seems to be a funny shape now i have baby bump

xx

My midwife also told me that laying on my back would make me uncomfortable before it became a problem for the baby. From some of the reading I have done, if the artery is being crushed by the weight of baby, placenta and all, you would really notice it. I still wake up on my back, so I am not going to worry too much.

I'm only comfy on my right side...but I do lie on my back for 10 minutes or so just to give my poor hips a break.
