we went for our eco-cardiogram ( heart ultrasound)
we drove for an hour out of town and got there just at the last min but we made it. the doctor was great and it went well. he said he sees a lot of golfball cases and he did not find any complications at all with the heart and said there will not be any. we were very proud of peanut!

to explain the result, golfball can be a soft marker for downs and 50 % of kids with downs have heart problems. so while this does lessen our results , finding further complications would have made our chances higher.
we still need to go to the genetic counseling appointment.

we are still remaining very positive as there is no reason not to be and we love our child and believe in it.

I'm really glad they didn't find anything else. Hopefully everything will be fine.

Do you still have days where you worry about it though? Most of the time I'm fine with it and tell myself it's nothing and really common and then other days I get quite down because I worry about it. Especially now I feel my due date is creeping up on me.

anita i wrote a whole response and it didnt go thru but maybe it still will, anyway the just of what i said was that yes i totally have days where it is much harder but i was so proud of my little peanut at the heart ultrasound and im just looking forward to all those days in the future that i will be proud of my child. no one can comfort us 100% but we have each other and those closest to us so pm if you need anything. i think this is just another way of preparing us for being parents, learning to believe in our kids and dealing with the fact that there are always chances in life for various things.
