Question for first time mums about bellies

Morning ladies

Sorry to gate crash your group (fingers crossed I'll be here soon). I have a question, maybe a weird one for you but really need to find out.

In 1st Tri, there is the thread about everyones bellies. Now I am 10 weeks, yesterday and I had a mc last year so I am one of those parnoid ones who thinks if I don't have symptoms, then the same thing will happen again.

When I am sat I have to undo my top button, by evening food is my enemy and I'm exhausted. I have been looking at everyones belies and thinking mine is nothing like theirs, ok I know this is my first but here goes with the question. The question is from your first pregnancy if you are on more and for first time mums.

When you lie down, at what week were you when your belly actually stayed rounded and didn't disappear? Does that make sense??? When did you have a slightly rounded belly, a pregnant belly when lying down, say, on your bed?

I stand up I have a belly (but I think it's just fat and water) when I lie down it goes flat. Now if my uterus is the size of a grapefruit, where the hell does it go? I really appreciate your answers on this.

Thanks

Im nearly 20 weeks with my 3rd baby, i Have a slight bump when standing and i have huge babies normally, but when i lie down my tummy is as flat as a pancake! At 10 weeks your uterus is still below your pelvis and doesnt rise up until about 12 weeks. Everybodys different, believe me in a few months you'll be wondering what you were worried about!x

I'm just a paranoid freak at the mo!!! lol. It's just really helpful finding out what others have gone through or are going through. This isn't excatly covered in books and internet articles and it's always better getting info from the horses mouth as we say.
So you are havign your third, you're 20 weeks and your belly is flat when you lie down?? What were your first 2 like?

Thanks Amy

I can understand why you're worried hun, I would be exactly the same! Try to relax though. Do you have a scan coming up?

First of all with the symptoms, mine started dying off at like 12-13 weeks. Before then id had terrible morning sickness, sore boobs and constipation. It differs for everyone, but you are coming to the end of first tri, so I suppose your symptoms probably will start to die off now.

As for a bump, Ive only just started to show and Im 26 weeks, but I know theres some girls who've been showing since like 8 weeks or something. Again, everyone is different.

You can't really compare yourself to anyone else hun, because everyone is different and if you don't look or feel a certain way you start to panic.

Id say 10 weeks is very early ad I wouldn't have thought you'd be showing yet anyway.

Hope you feel better soon hun

xxx

I get evenging sickness, fine in a morning, start getting tired at about 3pm, soreboobs although today not quite as swollen. I was quite liking having larger boobs, never had them before!

I just wanted to see when people started showing when lying down as this is where we all love our bellies, gravity!!!! Flatest belly ever This is the beauty of everyone being different, everyones experiences, in my opinion, count for alot, we all cover each others symptoms and feelings in some way or other.

Thanks for your info x

Mine started sticking up when I was lying down at about 12-14 weeks. I think that is kind of because the baby is really living over to one side of my uterus and so there is bump on that side. He's a funny thing.

As you say, everyone is different though and I had practically no symptoms apart from throwing up in the first trimester (and mine was also evening sickness!)

I think when I was about 17 or 18 weeks it started to stay a bit rounded when I laid down.

I am 24 weeks and it has only just started staying rounded when i lay down, it used to just go flat and even when my baby is 26cm long where on earth was it going if i couldn't see it? I wouldn't worry everyone is different, you may be a late show-er like me xx

Mine started staying round at aroun 22 weeks. 10 weeks is still really early to be showing much, but I understand your worry! We'll see you here in a few weeks!

I wasn't really worried, it's all so new and wnted to get some info of the more experienced mums to be. I appreicate it.

I've decided that I'm gonna join the others and take a "before" shot and see the difference from week to week ........ ok maybe every 3/4 weeks! You don't see the change so much when you're with the same belly 24/7. It's like when I don't see my nieces for a couple of weeks, oh how they've grown during that time but my sisters don't see it.
