So it turns out I'm a carrier of Hemoglobin E - OH's been called to have a blood test

Apparently, baby is fine, I'm fine but I'm a carrier of Hemoglobin E (from mum). If hubby also is a carrier, the baby may be born Anemic (sp?).

Anyone else been through this?

Hi

I've been in similar situation. Im a carrier of Hemo C and partner was tested and is a carrier of Hemo S which means my baby has 1 in 4 chance of sickle cell disorder when born. They wanted to do testing before baby is born but this has a chance of miscarrage so I said no.

Not really the same as you but I will say try not to worry to much and get as much info as you can and ask loads of questions if it turns out your partner is a carrier. x
