do u go n see the hospital before you have the baby? and does the hospital arrange this with you, or do u have to arrange it yourself?

Hiya Verney, do you mean like a pre visit? You usually arrange it with the midwife. My midwife said as i am new to the area that she would meet me one saturday and show me round the hospital. Ask your midwife about it hun x x

in my area, if you do the nhs antennatal classes, they arrange then to take you round one evening. But i believe the hospital also do sessions on a sunday morning where you can just turn up and they will show you round x

My MW told me to call the hospital itself and arrange it through them - mine are every other sunday and you just have to show up. Think it probably varies from area to area but it wouldn't hurt to call the hospital directly and ask!

i was taken round the birthing unit at my 12 week scan but ive to phone another hospital to arrange a time to come and visit their unit as they only run visits every second wednesday of the month. i would just give the hospital a ring and arrange it through them xx

i havent even thought about it! I have been to the maternity ward several times know though so know my way around however not sure where they put you when your actually in labour, i havent ever heard any screaming when i have been in different areas of the building!!
