Anyone had a private 16 week gender scan?

hi, im hoping to get a private 16 week gender scan but on the web site it says ill need to take my maternity notes with me. I was just wondering if anyones knows if the private company are likely to write on my notes? ive heard that if the nhs know you have had a private scan then you miss out on the free nhs one. i dont want that to happen lol

I didn't even take mine as I forgot them for the gender scan and didn't have them for my 8 week scan. They just use them to refer to and will only write in them if there are any problems found.

Hiya hun, had ours on Friday. Didn't take our notes so don't worry! Not sure about the NHS and private scans, they did tell us they were a waste of money because they tell you what your having on your 20 week scan, but for us it was priceless. Friday was a day i will never forget it was fantastic!!! xxx

had mine at 7+4, did take my notes incase they needed to view them but they didnt need them. If they are asking you to take them it should be just to look at them, they wont write on them, only midwives/docs are allowed to do that.

ive got one booked for 28th n from what i can make out they just give u a piece of paper like a report sheet

They ask for your notes to look at your EDD and also incase anything is wrong, they dont write in them !

a few people have told us they think we are wasting our money but the scan is only costing £50.00 and we can buy a dvd of the scan for an added £15.00 so to me £65.00 for a few pics, a dvd(which we wouldnt get from the nhs scan) and to find out 4 weeks early whether we are having a boy or girl seems quite good value for money

i paid £79 i think, got 4 piccies and quite a long scanning session, was fab to get to see Sophie and find out she was a girl! I was a great experience, really worth the money, i dont like hospitals and feel like they just want you ina nd out as quick as possible when you go for a scan there, at least going private its a better more special and personal experience and a great way of bonding
