I'd call. Sounds like it could be tightening. Probably best to talk to the maternity assessment unit / labour ward. Better to get their opinion than worry.

I had some tightening over the weekend, along with some bleeding on Sunday and Monday morning. The bump goes harder than normal and then goes softer again. Mine where lasting about 20-30 seconds and didn't really hurt but where uncomfortable. I also had pain around my back and where I would get period pain.

As I had some bleeding they also did a speculum and took a swab to see if I was in pre-term labour. The swab was negative and the bleeding stopped and I was told they were just Braxton Hicks contractions and advised to take paracetamol.

thanks so much hunny! its coming back in slight niggles, its just a very unusual feeling! its no where as strong as before, i also got a shooting pain up my cervix then but nothing since, just uncomfortable. My back is aching right in the middle... i dont know if that is relevant? xxxxx

I'd say still maybe give the hospital a call. They may just tell you to take some paracetamol and see if it calms down. That's what they did with me, made me wait for an hour to see if things stopped.

braxton hicks can be quite strong even at this point in pregnancy, and come and go randomly but i would still definatly phone the hospital and see what they advise you to do.
the backache.. is it just in the middle or does it feel like its moving? is that comming and going?
xxx
