Homebirth after previous c-section?

Has anyone had a homebirth after having a c-section? I had to have a s-section 13 months ago as i failed to dilate past 3cm. Ive asked if i could go to a midwife led unit which i cant so the only other option other than the hospital which i really dont want to go to is to have a homebirth.
Im seriously thinking about it as the care at my hospital is appauling.

Where do you live? It varies from country to country and state to state. I know that my Midwife does HBACs (homebirth after c-section), but she brings another Midwife with her who specializes in them. And many other Midwives do do them as long as its a low-risk pregnancy. I think calling around to Midwives in your area is a good idea.

Hey hun I saw a program on this yesterday, a woman who had 3 previous csections went onto have 2 homebirths! She mentioned about a group she had set up for natural births after csections, i cant remember the official name for it tho, try googling it for some more info
They should be able to give you some information on it, at the end of the day its your decision what you choose to do, not the hospitals, they can only recommend what you do. xx

I am a member of the south staffs homebirth support group and this months meeting was about homebirth VBAC! (there were a couple of ladies there who had had succsessful HVBAC) The lady that runs it is named Tina Coley and her website is vbacqueen.web.com. I'm sure she would give you any help or info if you contacted her.

I don't think NHS community midwives would support a home birth after C-section, I don't think they would be allowed to. But an Independent Midwife may do. Only problem with that is they are kinda costly.
