Your OH and obgyn/mw visits?

Does you OH go with you for your obgyn/mw appointments all the time? They say it everywhere that it helps them to bond with the baby more and understand more of what's going on. I had my OH at three main appointments so far but didn't see the point of bringing him to my 16 weeks and now 21st week. I would guess it will be as quick as 16 weeks. Or should I be taking him regardless whether it's quick or major?

Mine went to my 1st 2 appts (the 2nd was a scan at 8w6d) and hasn't been to another one since. I'm actually having to remind him repeatedly to ask off for next monday for the gender scan but he STILL hasn't done it and I am starting to think he has no intention of asking for it. He keeps saying he forgot... even though I've told him 20 times now.

My ex never went to appts either. I think they get uncomfy with a doctor that works with the lady bits.

Mine only went to the two scans. No point in his going to the others.

I have my husband go to ultrasounds but do the appointments myself. They are very routine and really not worth him missing work for. We have a doppler at home so we can hear the heartbeat at any time so there is nothing at the appointment that he would be missing.

DH did not come to my MW Booking appointment but attended scan and also wanted to be there for my 16 week appointment. He will obviously be at the next scan and if he wants to go to further MW appointments I am happy for him to go but would not be if he could not make it. Must say it was nice having him at my last MW appointment as he was asking loads of questions and you could see his excitment.

My hubby didn't come to the first appointment, as I knew they booked me too early to do anything (but try telling the receptionist that...). He came to the 12 week, I wanted him at the ultrasound. However, I kicked him out of the room during my exam. He was very curious, and I really didn't think he needed to see EVERYTHING. We'll save that for delivery

16 week appointment, I'm glad he didn't come. It was about 3 minutes long, with a doctor who was on-call for my doctor, and completely useless. Wednesday is my 20 week appointment, he's been counting down days Hopefully the bean will cooperate during the ultrasound!

I don't know if I'll bring him to the rest of the appointments during 2nd trimester. Don't think there's much I couldn't just repeat to him. Plus, it's really difficult for him to get the time off, we have to choose those times wisely.

My DH goes with me to all the appointments... I make them for his day off because he insisted that he would like to go to as many as possible... but I feel like some of them are so quick its kind of pointless to drag him there, I do know he likes hearing our little guys heartbeat and getting all squimish off the pregnant lady posters in the exam room !!

My DH has been to all my appointments except for one. They're usually scheduled weeks early..so he requests the day off so he can go. I like that he can go with me, since this is are first he wants to be there for all of the experiences..even if it's just me getting my blood taken and checking the babies heart beat..he's a sweetheart

Mine has been to all of my appts so far. True, there are some that are very quick, so he doesn't really have to be there, but he wants to, so when we schedule the appts we just schedule for the days when he's off, that way he's not taking any time off work for a very short appt, lol!

mine really wants to come to my midwife appointments but he can't because he is working and it's silly for him to get time off every few weeks when it is just a routine checkup. he does get time off to come to the scans though
