OH has been to every appointment, scan and emergency trip to MAU. It's his baby too and he isn't working so there is no reason for him not to be there. It gives him a chance to ask any questions he has on the pregnancy.

He isn't always that useful. I have had bloods done 3 times. Twice he has left the room and once, where I only went in to have bloods done by the practice nurse he came in but sat right at the other side of the room.
Yesterday we had another fun trip to MAU for bleeding and braxton hicks. OH had a serious case of man flu and looked like he needed the bed more than I did. Still, it would not have occurred to him not to come with me.

DH works for himself and from home, meaning he doesn't need to ask for time off but can just take it. Because of this he's been to all the appointments with me, which I personally love. I'm not sure it helps him bond in any way, but it's his baby as well and at least this way he gets all the information I do.

My oh doesnt come to appointments with me, he comes to scans with me, the only thing he misses out on when I have appointments is listening to the heart beat. As I am now back to having al my midwofe apointments at home again, he will be here so he wont be missing anything this time round, plus he cant help himself but to ask questions lol.......I guess it depends on what you and the oh want to do, as the appointments are made in advance then it gives him plenty of time to get the time off work, maybe change his day off for that week......

I just personally don't like for him to waste his work time, he can certainly work from home, but he has a higher up position and up for promotion so don't want to waste his time when there are short appointments. But then again how would I know in advance if an appointment would be short! Plus he asks more questions than I do and for some reason he keeps asking about autism, that's his scare number one and it just makes me more nervous!! No, they haven't updated research since the last time we were here four weeks ago - the causes are still unknown, stop asking!

My husband comes to every single appointment, scan, anything to do with the baby. I love it. Then again, we both work from home and have always done just about everything together anyway.

He likes going to the appointments because he likes getting the information and is just there for general support really. Wouldn't have it any other way.

My DH likes to come to the appointments when he can...so Ive done the two EPU scans by myself and he's come to everything else I think. I'm not sure he finds that it helps him bond with the baby but I know he wants to be supportive - I do make the point that honestly for the 5 minutes they spend with you it's not worth it but I guess as someone else said further up I don't know which appointments are important!

DH comes to all my appointments. He likes to, he loves hearing the heartbeat, which happens at each appointment. We take our son with us too, who also likes hearing the heartbeat. Our OB appointments are about 10 minutes long, and our MW appointments are an hour.
