| Acid Reflux... what is your experience? As some of you know from my earlier post I have been having chest pain, worse when I lie on my left side or take a deep breath. The hospital have said it isnt a blod clot on my lung nd no heart problems showed on an ECG and my blood is very good (15). I am still very worried about it as it is uncomfortable. My own doctor said it may be borneholme disease (anyone heard of this?!) which causes inflammation of a joint in the breast plate or else severe acid reflux. I have never had much heartburn or anything but apparently acid reflux when particularly bad can present with chest pain and it can be worse on one side when you lie on it as the acid sort of splashes to the side. Its so worrying and I would love to think it is just acid reflux, I can cope with the discomfort but its the anxiety I am finding difficult! I would be really grateful to hear your experiences of acid and digestive discomfort, the more wierd and wonderful the better to stop me from freaking out that Im having a heart attack! Thanks so much! | | | | Status: Offline

| I have already started getting the pain. I have had acid reflex form before I got pregnant so I wasn't suprised to find it worsen.
I don't know if this is the same pian you get but I would descirbe it as the same pain you get if you were too eat a spoon of peanut butter quickly. Mine is right in the middle of my chest but it is very painful...I have had it before so I didn't suspect a heartattack but if I hadn't I would be worried too as it is surpirsingly sharp pain. | | | | Status: Offline

I suffered with reflux disease before pregnancy, and I think I know the pain you mean. I have wondered at times if I'm having a heart attack too, but it's just really bad acid I think. Right in the middle of my chest and it's so painful xx | | | | Status: Offline

| Aw I hope you start feeling better soon! That sounds awful
I have been getting some horrid acid reflux but nowhere near as bad as what you're experiencing! Mine's been strong burning in my chest and going up my throat. I had some bile come up into my mouth when I was lying down trying to sleep the other night, not pleasant I can tell you
I used to be on Losec for acid reflux before I got pregnant, so I'm wondering if perhaps it's okay to start taking it again, I might ask my doctor...still have some in the cupboard and it works a treat if I remember rightly! The heartburn can only get worse as the stomach gets squashed upward, and uterus is nearly at the top near my ribs so getting there!
