CarSeat - recommendations?

Hi

Can anyone recommend a carseat, i've started looking around but there are so many out there... i'd ideally want one thats a carrier as well, which you can take it out of the car if the baby's asleep but there are just so many out there, and the prices vary so much!
Also is it a big deal if its secured by seatbelt rather than a base? from what I can gather both types pass the safety regs...just thinking seatbelt would be easier if ever travelling in someone elses car?

Many Thanks
Lisaxx

I had trouble with car steats because my husband has an audi TT and I have a little Yaris...anyway after much searching we have found the maxi cosi cabriot seat. It is over £100.00 (can't remember the exact amt because we got a discount) but it's very easy to use, very light and comes highly recommended.

Also, you don't need the isofix and for us, it is the car seat for our travel system (Icandy peach).

You're right tho, there are SOOOOOOOO many to choose from. Good luck

if you use the car a lot then it may be worth getting one with a base as it does make life slightly easier - dont worry about using it in someone elses car as they can all be fitted by seatbelts as well

if you dont use the car a lot then dont waste money on the base, or even an expensive seat - they all use safety as their selling points, particularly the top end range seats, but remember they all pass the safety requirements too

Iv also got the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat!

It goes onto our pram chassis without adapters (mothercare My4) and it also can work with an isofix base OR a normal seatbelt base OR just the seatbelt securing the seat in. So you've really got 3 options. Its also go a good safety rating.

so thumbs up from me!

I'm also going Maxi Cosi Cabriot seat...I didn't realise you didn't need the base? I thought you still needed the base even if you have isofix in your car?

We have the maxicosi cabriofix too! Must be a popular one, perhaps because it can be part of a travel system.
Have you chosen your pram yet? Is there a compatible car seat?

Good luck with your search!! x
