Vbac

I had an emergency c-section with my first so ill be trying for a vbac this time. Only thing is i really dont like my hospital
I was wondering could i go to a local midwife led maternity unit? With me having had a previous c-section the answer is prob a no but i really dont want to go back to the same hospital as before.
Id love a water birth (i planned this for my first) Obviously it didnt go to plan! Would the only way to have a water birth is to have a home birth? As the hospital i went to and im assigned to now doesnt have pools anyway the midwife led unit does. I just want this birth to be a good experience and not a terrible one like the last time.

I would certainly ask the midwife if you can go to the unit, although I am thinking that you wont be able to as you had an emergency section, they will want to keep a closer eye on you in case they need to rush you to theatre again......Althoug a lot of women do go on to have a nomal delivery after a section, it wont hurt to ask, the worst she can say is no.......

definately ask!... i also had emergency c-section last time and am trying for a vbac this time.. because of the history i had last time (pre-eclampsia) i am high risk so i have to be consultant led and am not allowed a water birth
i have chosen to travel 30 miles to the hospital i had to go to last time as i really dislike my local maternity unit (only 1 mile away!)

i think its really important to be comfortable in your hospital so definately explore your options!!!!!

good luck xx

The reason i had to have an emergency section was because i didnt get past 3cm so theres no reason why i shouldnt give birth naturally this time. I really hope they give me the chance to at least try at the midwife led unit! The after care at my hospital is really crappy and i didnt feel comfy there at all - i even discharged myself i hated it that much
