| Not sure about use of tea tree oil in pregnancy.
Try sudacrem dotted on the spots, or toothpaste! | | | | Status: Offline

| I use the tea tree oil as well... didn't even read the package to be honest...
now I"m curious.
I think that the amount that you probably use it isn't too bad... BUT most things put on the skin are absorbed by the skin/placenta and transfered...so I don't know.
Thanks for bringing this up... I'm going to look into it a bit more. | | | | Status: Offline

| I swear by sudocream at mo - helps loads with redness and dries the buggers out! I find the smell of tea tree 2 strong at mo as my sense of smell is so sensitive. But I wouldn't worry about amount u've applied so far - loads of things that r fine in pregnancy have to warn u just cos of regulations. | | | | Status: Offline

| I cannot find anywhere on the net where it says that it's safe, but it also just says it has not been tested enough | | | | Status: Offline

| Hey hun, I also use Tea Tree Oil religiously, as I have rather bad acne after coming off my Doxycycline meds - had to stop them as they discolour the baby's teeth so that's definitely not good!
I made sure I asked my doctor about it last time I went to see him, and he said that Tea Tree Oil is just fine to use, as long as it hasn't gone off x I wouldn't worry too much. | | | | Status: Offline

| Hiya, I'm an aromatherapist. Tea-tree oil is recommend not to be used in pregnancy as its a stimulating oil and may have an effect on the baby. Essential oils are one of the very few things which have a molecular structure small enough to actually penetrate the skin down to the bottom layer and diffuse into the blood system.
If you get some base oil (eg almond, grapeseed or even olive oil) and dilute it. use 10ml of base oil with 4 drops of tea-tree and use that instead to pop on your spots, you'll be fine.
I've been using every oil under the sun all the way during my pregnancy anyway despite the guidelines and i'm fine. Just be aware if you start to feel different at all then stop using it. If you are that concerned just don't use it.
You can buy some good spot sticks that are aromatherapy based that work just as well but are blended and safe to use in pregnancy. I find the liz earle one works really well and isn't expensive... http://uk.lizearle.com/products_deta...=3&groupid=15# | | | | Status: Offline

| I've been using Tea Tree products all through, and I've had no problems at all However, come to think of it, none of them have been oil based. I use the face wash, exfoliator etc. | | | | Status: Offline
