Anyone else planning a cheep (ish) nursery?

I was just wondering if anyone else planning a cheep (ish) nursery? My nursery is going to be all new stuff but everything is on as much of a low cost as we can get it. Here is my plan.....

Mine will be cheap. Already got a large chest of drawers that will be used, not planning on spening more than £200 on cot and matteress. I'm having a crib from a family member that will be used for the first few months in our room. Won't be getting a wardrobe as we don't have the space, and storage boxes will be used for toys etc so they can be stacked in the corner. I'd love a nursing chair but our house is too small, we've literally got nowhere to put one. Apart from that, I plan on decorating myself but not 100% on the theme yet.

Mine is going to be free... I call it "my bedroom." haha I like co-sleeping so I'm not doing the whole nursery thing because it will be a total waste of money for us. I am going to concentrate more on clothing instead. Even that will be second hand though.

I am glad I am not the only one. It seems that most people are spending as much on a cot as we are on the whole room! We keep looking on ebay (which seems fantastic for pushchairs) but are getting a lot of out things from Ikea and ASDA direct.

We are not having a wardrobe either, I just prefer to fold clothes. I am putting a sofa bed in the nursery so I can sleep on it and use it as a chair because it is the only room off limits to the cat and dogs so I will sleep in it rather than the baby in our room. Our theme is natural so we can start to paint the room soon and I think it is an easy look to pull off (hopefully).

Try not to worry. Quite a while back we was told that the house we rented was going to be rented for a long time to us and then we was given short notice at the end of our 6 month contract to leave! Finding somewhere to rent with 2 dogs is hard and finding somewhere nice even harder but cutting it VERY close we started renting the house 5 doors down! Things like that tend to be really stressful but work out in the end!

Jade: My mum is buying the cot (and mattress) and some blankets and other bits. We are lucky really!

Goodness! Yours won't be cheap, but sort of cheap to you. lol. Toys-r-us links never work, but I typed it in and it is nice and good value too! My mum was surprised at how cheap the cot I wanted was when she said she was going to buy it so I think that is why she is getting more things (I think she though she would never get grand kids with me in my mid twenty's and having problems in the past and my sisters in their 30's with no interest in kids).
