Quickening? :S

Last night Davids mum said what I was experiencing on Wednesday was quickening and I must be further along or something.

I googled quickening because I didn't really know what it meant and I really don't think it was.

I was feeling very dizzy and sick everytime I stood up, when I finally decided to do the housework I got up clunge for dear life to the banister and went to wash up to find the water still not hot no tea towels and my face started to go all tingly and I was almost being sick.
This ofcourse set of lots of tears and last most of the day!
see I just thought this as a normal pregnancy symptom or something maybe not quickening?
is it?

on the bright side if it is she said it won't happen again

I am not sure but I have felt dizzy when standing up and walking up the stairs and the midwife told me it was because I now have slightly low blood pressure. Could it be that?

Hun, my understanding of quickening is that it is just you feeling the baby move for the first time. I think the other stuff you are going through is just your body getting used to the hormones rushing around and all the extra blood in your system. It could be that if you are going dizzy when you stand up you may have a little bit of low blood pressure. I would get any dizziness that lasts for a while and any itching or tingling checked out by a doctor just in case. It is probably normal pregnancy stuff but it is better to be safe and get it checked. I had quite a lot of dizziness around week 13 and 14 and when I went to the doctors he sent me for some more blood tests and I was a little low on iron.

Not sure... Last time she checked my blood pressure it was fine but that was 3 weeks ago

I know I should trust her opinion cos she has had 6 kids but I'm confused

She had good pregnancies aswell she only got hormonal right at the end and only got ms with her 2 boys.

that doesn't sound like quickening. Dizziness is very normal in second trimester - your body adjusted to give bubs more oxygen and thus widened your blood vessels. It does look like a low blood pressure but it's very normal. Quickening is more like bubbles inside your tummy and is not related to being dizzy No worries, your body is working like it's supposed to be working

My blood pressure was fine last time and when she checked it last week I said I was worried about high blood pressure (my mum has high blood pressure but it was always worse while she was pregnant and I had started getting dizzy) but then she said it was slightly low. The fist time I felt something it was just a weird feeling inside me about the size of a bouncy ball, but not dizziness then.

You never know! You could be one of the people who feel it early, like me (although I only seem to feel it when laying in a certain position so far).
