I'm Currently Feeling: | Double Test For Down's Syndrome.... has anyone has this blood test?
I had it at 16 weeks but haven't heard anything from my midwife so i phoned her just now to check what the results were.
I had been thinking no news is good news, but these blimmin dreams keep getting the better of me
Well she said the result was 1/750 Normal was her word! Couldn't get off the phone quick enough.
Does anyone know how 'normal' this is?
Has anyone else had any experiences with the double test (or tripple test as she called it earlier??) |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had mine but they lost the results.
I think unless your results are 1/250 or less they class it as normal and don't refer you for any other tests. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I thought I would have gone mad, but by the time they told me I had felt him kicking and I thought that there was no way I would have done anything differently, so its not that big an issue anymore.
I think it depends on quite a lot of things as to your risk factor. Im 21 and the midwife told the risk for someone of my age was like 1/1600 or something like that, but the risk increases as you get older.
If you're still concerned speak to your MW and she should be able to reassure you

I'm Currently Feeling: | I wasn't told what the result was I was only told I was low risk. So I'm afraid I can't really help.

I'm Currently Feeling: | i was told 1/8500 - so nothing to worry about.
I also ehard that they only worry of less than 1/250 or 1/400. You're fine. My friend was given 1/60 or something! eek. baby is fine and healthy. |

I'm only 22 myself hun so it is quite low really. I know i wouldn't do anything about it and that this little girl is here to stay, it would just prepare us thats all
It's still quite scary tho isn't it. These babies do like to worry us.. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Yeah it's definately scary. NHS direct must be sick of me by now.
We wanted the test just to prepare ourselves, but OH didn't think he could cope with it if it turned out that Junior did have it, he seems to have changed his mind now though.

I'm Currently Feeling: | I didn't take the test as i decided that it would not change my choice to keep my baby or not. It would only make me stress about what was ahead of me. So my partner and i opted out of the test. If my baby has downs, it has downs.
