Just waiting on the results of mine. .... not sure what 'low risk' is tho? Do you mean age group? I'm 31.

ya low risk by age...I just was trying to not offend anyone....I'm just trying to decide if I will have these next week. I'm thinking it won't change anything or how I feel about my baby. And I'm worried about unneccesary stress for me and bubs. Maybe just putting things in the hands of faith. just wondering what others felt about the subject.

low risk can be loads of different things! like high blood pressure, very overweight, older ladies. you would have been told if you were high risk!

and i did have the test, but to be honest i dont know why! if i came back as a high risk, it would not have changed our minds about having our little girl! and i definetly would NOT have got the amnio needle thing in my tummy!

its a personal choice hun! do what feels right for you! (mine came back as 1 in 7000)

I did it, because it's offered in US as a standard test regardless of your age.

hey i set up a thread like this earlier on in the week. i was all set for the test, but then when people commented back to me telling me that even if you are classed as high risk then the baby still might not have it, or even if your classed as low risk your baby might have it and the only way to 100% tell if your baby has it is for an amnio scan which is where they have to stick a needle into your stomach to get some fluid from the back of the babys neck, and this can cause miscarriage. i have now decided not to get the test done just becuase i wouldnt get 100% reasurance and dont think i could go through an abortion at this stage anyway.
hope that helps hun :-) xx
