I went to look at furniture from babies r us. I ended up registering for my crib and dresser there. Some of them are not the top of the line, and we could see that the varnish easily chipped off. Be careful about these ones. The one I got was VERY VERY STURDY... and the dresser to match... is a QUALITY piece of furniture. It is something she will be able to use for a long time. The dresser already comes put together... none of that screw and blot stuff like walmart. --nothing wrong with those... just not what we were looking for. My crib cost 300.00 and the dresser 400.00. the crib converts from toddler to full size as well. Read the reviews about the cribs... it really helps and are from real parents.

They have the 'Highgate' cotbed on offer at £99.99 at the moment. It is supposedly less than half price and was £240 to start with!!

I have saw it in Toysrus/Babysrus and I would not pay £99.99 for it - it is not strong at all and the wood is not good quality either.

Prices for cots go up to about £300 on Babysrus.

Babysrus online stock East Coast nursery furniture-which is very nice and good quality too. However Kiddicare tends to be cheaper than Babysrus!

We have the Dilham range - cotbed, dresser and wardrobe - got it cheaper elsewhere.

i really like the highgate too, it looks like a good quality range

i have noticed that alot of the cots on display are not put together well, rush job and missing screws which means of course they will look unstable and rickity,

Well put it like this:

My husband is a carpenter and makes kitchens that would set you back tens of thousands of pounds. He has a very picky eye. We decided that as he is going to make LO a bed in a few years, there was very little point splurging now. We have chosen a cotbed bundle (comes with bedding, mobile, mattress, changing mat) for £200 from babies r us and he is very happy with the quality of it, even with his pickiness! He wouldn't get one from Argos.

Thanks, its nice that your husband is picky but for some people Argos or a £99 cot is all they can afford.
