I'm Currently Feeling: | Private Room If you need to stay in hospital for a day or two or three! Are any of you considering paying for a private room after birth or are you happy being put onto a ward? I have been reading that if rooms are available you can pay for a private room at your NHS hospital for around £45 per day. (providing they are available)
I would quite like to do this as it will give you more room for visitors and your own bathroom etc |

I'm Currently Feeling: | yes i'd like a private room.
If baby is sleeping in there with you I think it'd be best if there is only one person / baby. Otherwise the chances of sleep are much reduced!
And as you say - it's nice for when you have guests or just feel like being non social! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I had a side room and to be honest it got quite lonely! When I had my last daughter I was in a 4 bedded bay and much preferred it. Kept curtains round for privacy when needed, each bed had a tv and if needed the loo or shower it was nice to know other ladies were about to keep an eye on baby. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | My first two babies were born in a hospital where all of the rooms are private and because I was in for 4 days due to C-sections, I enjoyed it. I had my own bathroom, baby was beside me 24 hours a day, and I was also in no mood to talk to others. It was a lot more peaceful.
I will be delivering again in the same hospital. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Im hoping to have a homebirth but if I can't then I will look into getting a private room in the hospital. I had one last time and I loved it, had privacy, didn't have to talk to anyone and couldn't hear any of the other babies crying I'd hate to be on a ward with other people tbh |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I didn't even know that was an option... might have to ask about that one. That's if there is even a hospital let alone a Maternity ward lol.
I'm hopefully giving birth in a hospital that is still being built at the moment. Am getting a little worried as they should have opened this month and have put back till June.... my little girl is due in July |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I booked for a private room too. With my son I had wanted a private room but none were available, so I ended up in a semi and I hated it! They don't let you sleep at all Well actually, you can't sleep at hospitals at all but the privacy of being alone is nice. I hated being in the hospital the last few days as I was moved into a 4 bed room with 3 other girls that were in there for preterm labor and its not nice. We all shared the bathroom and everyone had visitors, so if you were bagged, good luck on trying to get some sleep and not to mention nurses would come in every 10 mins if someone needed to be monitored. Yuck, I'm not looking forward to going back |
