Really bad Heartburn

I have been getting really bad heartburn! It is so painful it feels as if my throat is becoming raw. I used to take Gaviscon as my doctor said it is safe to use, however Gaviscon makes you retain water as it contains high levels of sodium. I have read that a natural cure for heartburn is one tablespoon of white vinegar. I took it last night and it actually work faster and better than the Gaviscon! The problem was I drank white chilli vinegar! It burned my throat like hell before it solved the problem.Next time I should read the label instead of gulping it down. Am I the only one struggling with heartburn and do you girls also know of some natural remedies?

I take Tums as well, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I just heard that you need calcium when you have heart burn. Have you tried Tums yet? They are safe for baby.
