The way i looked at it was, i work in a health centre with midwifes, health visitors and drs and nurses, all who advised me to get it. After all the vaccine has been passed by all regulated organisations and there is no proof that it harms unborn babies, however where there is proof is that swine flu has and can have devastating effects on pregnant women. My own GP said "off record" if i was his daughter he would strongly recommend getting the vaccine.

Another benefit is alot of our babies will be born when swine flu is at its peak and with the vaccine they are born with immunity.

Finally, pregnant mums who were vaccinated in Australia have all gone on to have healthy babies (they had the vaccine in their winter).

Hope this helps xx

Lara,

If you phone your GP they should advise when they are intending to vaccinate pregnant ladies in your area

Do you know if the version you got had adjuvant in it? I'm getting mixed messages about whether to get the current vaccine with adjuvant, or wait until the adjuvant-free vaccine comes out. Some nurses say get the one now, other nurses are saying no way should I get the one with adjuvant before 20 weeks. I'm so confused!

I think I will get it I have always been swaying towards getting it with some doubt but I always goo back to getting it I am going to call my GP on Monday and find out what the story is.

No, the adjuvant is an immune booster. Thermasil is the preservative which is a form of mercury.

I got my H1N1 shot on Wednesday.
