I feel awful.. not sure what to do...

Im 18weeks today. So yesterday at about 3pm, i felt really sick, like i was coming down with something, went for a rest, but when i woke up, i had excrutiating backache and stomach cramps, i tried to ring midwife/doctor but cudnt get hold of them, so i rang nhs direct who told me i was giving birth.. how ever i know im not. Decided that i would try to sleep it off and go to the doctors today, but i kept waking up every hour and couldnt get back to sleep for ages, the backache, got worse, stomach cramps have gone, but im now feeling dizzy/drowsy and feel as if im coming down with the flu, should i wait 2hours and go to the doctors or ring an ambulance? thanks.

Have you got a fever? Maybe phone your out-of-hours provider rather than NHS direct? Your gp surgery should have their number on their answerphone if the gp surgery is shut

ohh poor you - I have never had flu but it sounds like you may have it (normal not swine I mean as not a clue how the symptoms differ) - NHS direct though omg!!!

Personally if you are well enough to be holding down fluids and functional I would wait and GP it first thing - get on redial at 8.30 (or as soon as they open) and make sure you get seen as an emergency today. If they wont fit you in then go to hospital xxxx

I hope you feel better soon xxxxxxxxxx

What is the earliest you can phone your gp? Otherwise I would consider the ambulance if you have severe pain. Better safe than sorry. Hope you are OK.

xx
